Food habits pertaining to religious practices/ tradition holiday dishes.

I didn't find any religous traditions pertaining to food in Italy but Italy does has 20 regions, and each region has its own traditional food and wine. Italian food does not consist of only pizza and spaghetti, and the menu is as varied as the Italian regions. Italians use a variety of vegetables, such as tomatoes, eggplants, onions, garlic, peas, pepper in their cuisine. Italian food and wine are well known in Canada and North America

Foods eaten in Smerica that originated from Italy.

Ok so Im familliar with most of dishes on the menu: Wine, Pizza, Garlic Bread. Pasta, Rizzoni. So much to choose from!!

Typical meals in Italy

Ok time to order. The chef pointed out that Traditional Italian menus have five sections. A full meal usually consists of an appetizer, first course and a second course with a side dish. It's not necessary to order from every course, but usually people order at least two courses. Im not sure how many courses Im going to order but Im prettyhungry so we'll see. Lets see ..... Well pizza and pasta dishes are very common in Italy and I'm also familiar with them so I might order that.

Meal schedule of your country

Breakfast time is the same as In America. Breakfast in Italy is usually a cup of coffee and something sweet. But I found it interesting that they dont have the big breakfasts like we do.

Lunch is usually around 1:00 and is a bigger meal than wehave. M ost stores close down at lunchtime and reopen around three or four in the afternoon. I  was both confused and dissapointed to find that out.

When we went to  Dinner We found out that it  is later than we usuallyeat. Most Italians sit down to dinner around 8:00.  So when we walked into the restaurant in Italy at 5:30 we found thenplace empty. I guess Only the tourist eat that early.

Flavor principles used in your country

The chef went on to tell us some of the frequently used herbs and spices used in Italy. Such as Coriander, Nutmeg, Pepper, Saffron, Vanilla, Basil, Oregano, Parsely, and Rosemary.

Common cooking methods

After a quick nap we are now at Antica Trattoria della Pesa, an Italian restaurant. Im not sure what to order yet, while I think about it I'm goin to ask the chef about some of Italy's cooking methods.
HE said that Italian cooking methods have remained traditional with the use of pots and pans on stoves preferred.  He also said that  Microwaves are not popular because the food doesn't taste as good as when it is cooked with small gas or electric hobs. They also use different varieties of noodles like d'angelo and tortellini.
